MEI Hosts Appreciation Dinner to Strengthen Academic Partnerships

On 10 February 2026, MEI hosted an appreciation dinner bringing together partners, scholars and collaborators involved in its Sino–UK education initiatives. The event provided an opportunity to review the progress of ongoing collaborations and explore new opportunities for future partnership development.

A highlight of the evening was an artistic sign-in activity, where guests collectively created the Chinese character “” (Fu),

symbolising good fortune and prosperity, reflecting the spirit of cultural exchange and collaboration between China and the UK.

Participants included representatives from universities, research institutions and academic networks in both countries. Discussions covered academic exchange, summer teaching programmes and student study visits. The gathering also generated
several concrete outcomes, including potential meetings with partner universities and new institutional introductions.

Through this event, MEI further strengthened its academic network and reinforced its role as a platform supporting dialogue and collaboration between institutions in the UK and China.

MEI Participates in China-Scotland Business Engagement Events in Edinburgh

Recently, MEI participated in a series of high-level engagement activities in Edinburgh aimed at strengthening collaboration between the UK and China in business and education. Representatives attended the China-Scotland Business Awards and Chinese Burns Supper hosted by the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), where MEI engaged with key stakeholders from government, industry and academia, including representatives from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, InvestHK and leading UK universities. The event provided a valuable platform for dialogue on cultural exchange and bilateral cooperation.

During the visit, MEI also took part in the Education Forum organised by KPMG, which brought together senior figures from the higher education sector to discuss opportunities and challenges in transnational education (TNE) and China-UK educational collaboration. The forum explored emerging policy trends, market opportunities and innovative partnership models in international higher education.

Through these engagements, MEI strengthened its connections with organisations such as the China-Britain Business Council and higher education institutions across Scotland, further expanding its international network and supporting future collaboration in education, research and industry partnerships.
